Claude Pro price in Turkey: the number first

Claude Pro in Turkey costs $20 a month, or $200 a year paid up front, and Anthropic quotes both prices in US dollars before tax. Türkiye's KDV (katma değer vergisi, the Turkish VAT) is added on top at the web checkout when your billing address is in Türkiye, at the standard 20% rate, so the amount sent to your card for monthly Pro is $24. Your bank then turns that dollar amount into lira at its own rate on the day, plus whatever it charges for a foreign-currency transaction. The lira figure on your statement is therefore not fixed. It moves every month with the exchange rate.

Max is the same arithmetic with larger numbers: $100 a month for Max 5x and $200 a month for Max 20x, both before KDV. The Free plan costs nothing and needs no card. Türkiye (Turkey) is on Anthropic's list of supported countries for both Claude.ai and the API, checked 2026-09-15, so you can sign up with a Turkish address and a Turkish card without a workaround. The availability list by country has the neighbouring countries and the exceptions.

Does Anthropic bill in lira or in dollars from Türkiye?

In dollars, on the web. Anthropic's pricing page lists Pro at $20 and Max from $100, and the help center says prices appear in local currency only "where supported" and that tax is calculated from your billing address. Subscribers in Türkiye report that the web checkout shows the dollar price with a tax line added, not a lira price. The App Store and Google Play are different: there the plan is priced in lira by the store, and that is covered below.

A dollar charge on a Turkish card works like any other foreign purchase. Your bank converts the amount at its own published rate, or passes on the card network's rate, and it may add a fee for the foreign-currency transaction. Neither Anthropic nor Stripe, its payment processor, sets that rate. This is why two people in Türkiye on the same plan can see two different lira amounts on the same day. Because the conversion happens at each renewal, a monthly plan produces twelve slightly different lira charges a year. An annual plan produces one conversion at one rate, which removes that variance for twelve months but also locks in whatever the rate was on the day you paid.

Is 20% KDV included or added at checkout?

Added. The standard KDV rate in Türkiye has been 20% since July 2023 (Presidential Decision 7346, in force from 10 July 2023), and the standard rate is the one that applies to electronically supplied services sold to consumers in Türkiye. Anthropic's help center states that tax is calculated from the billing address on your payment method, and that tax appears as its own line on the invoice. Reports from subscribers in Türkiye during 2026 describe exactly that on the web checkout: the $20 plan, then a 20% tax line, then a $24 total.

Verify it on your own screen before you confirm, because the tax line depends on the address you enter, and an address in another country changes it. On the checkout page, look for a line labelled "Tax" between the subtotal and the total. After the charge, the invoice arrives by email with the subject line "Your receipt from Anthropic", and the same document is under Settings, then Billing, then Invoices. The tax line there is the number your accountant needs. If your invoice shows no tax line at all, check the billing address on the payment method: tax follows the address, and the help center notes that address changes apply to future invoices only.

Do not confuse KDV with Türkiye's separate digital services tax (dijital hizmet vergisi). That tax is levied on the provider's revenue, so it never appears as a line on your receipt.

The app stores handle KDV differently. An App Store price in Türkiye is shown tax-inclusive, so the lira figure you see for Pro is the amount charged, with KDV already inside it. That is one reason the two routes do not produce the same number.

From dollars to lira: a worked example

The rate below is illustrative. It is a round number chosen to make the arithmetic easy to follow, not today's exchange rate, and not a rate any bank will give you. Put your own bank's rate and fee in its place.

The steps for monthly Pro. Start with the list price of $20. Add 20% KDV, which gives $24, and that is the dollar amount Anthropic sends to your card. Multiply by the illustrative rate of 50 lira per dollar, which gives 1,200 TL. Add an illustrative 2% foreign-transaction fee, which brings the statement line to 1,224 TL. Every input except the KDV rate is yours to replace: the exchange rate your bank applied on the day, and the fee your card actually carries, which may be zero.

Two things follow from the arithmetic. The tax and the fee are both percentages, so they scale with the plan, and Max 20x at the same rate comes to 12,240 TL a month. And the exchange rate moves the total more than the fee does. A 5% move in the lira changes the Pro charge by more than the entire illustrative card fee, so if you want a predictable figure, the rate is the thing to watch, not the fee.

Web price or App Store price: which is cheaper from Türkiye?

The Claude iOS app sells the same plans through Apple, priced in lira and tax-inclusive. As of September 2026 the Türkiye App Store lists Pro at 999.99 TL a month, Pro annual at 11,999.99 TL a year, Max 5x at 6,999.99 TL a month and Max 20x at 12,999.99 TL a month (the store shows them with Turkish punctuation, so ₺999,99 for Pro). Those tiers were raised at the start of July 2026, when the Pro tier went from 799.99 TL to its current price, so treat them as a snapshot rather than a constant. Google Play lists its own lira price; open the Android app to see the current one.

At the illustrative rate, Pro is cheaper through the App Store (999.99 TL against 1,224 TL) and both Max tiers are cheaper on the web. That pattern is not permanent. It holds because Apple's lira tiers stay fixed between repricings while the web charge floats with the dollar, so a weaker lira makes the App Store relatively cheaper and a stronger lira makes the web relatively cheaper, until Apple's tier is moved again. Redo the comparison with your bank's real rate on the day you subscribe.

Two practical differences matter more than a small price gap. An App Store subscription is billed and managed by Apple, so the receipt comes from Apple and the subscription is cancelled in your iPhone's subscription settings rather than on claude.ai. The plan itself is the same either way: a Pro subscription bought through the App Store is attached to your Claude account, so it applies on the web and in the desktop app too.

What to check on a Turkish card before you subscribe

Banks in Türkiye differ in how they handle foreign online charges, and their policies change, so check these on your own card rather than trusting a forum post about someone else's bank.

• Is the card open to international transactions? Many Turkish banks let you switch "yurt dışı işlemler" (international transactions) on and off in the mobile app. A card with that switch off is declined at checkout.
• Is the card open to online and recurring payments? A subscription is a repeating charge with no card present. Some virtual and prepaid cards handle a one-off purchase and then fail at the first renewal.
• What rate and fee does the bank apply to a dollar charge? Look for the foreign-currency transaction fee and the conversion rule in the card's fee schedule. That is the fee slot in the worked example above.
• Does your bank require a one-time SMS code for foreign online payments? If so, keep the phone next to you at checkout. A confirmation that times out looks like a declined payment.
• Which address will you enter? The billing address decides the tax line, so enter the address you actually live at.

If you hold a dollar-denominated account with a card attached, the subscription can be paid from it with no conversion at all: the charge lands as the dollar total, KDV included. Annual or monthly (yıllık mı, aylık mı)?

Annual Pro on the web is $200 up front, before KDV, against $20 a month, so a year of monthly payments costs $40 more in dollar terms. From Türkiye the annual plan has a second effect: a single conversion at a single rate. That is a saving if the lira weakens over the year and a loss if it strengthens, and nobody can tell you in advance which it will be.

The other side of the decision is commitment. An annual plan is paid in full at the start, and the annual versus monthly comparison goes through what happens if you cancel part way through. Cancelling a monthly plan is simple, and the cancel or downgrade steps cover it.

Pro or Max: which one from Türkiye?

The decision is the same as anywhere else, because every dollar of Max carries the same 20% KDV and the same conversion as every dollar of Pro. Max 5x is five times the price of Pro in dollars, and it stays five times the price in lira. The only Turkey-specific difference is the App Store, where Apple's lira tiers for Max sit a little higher relative to Pro than the dollar prices do, as the chart above shows.

So decide on usage, not on currency. If you hit Pro's limits most days, the questions to ask before upgrading to Max will tell you whether the 5x tier is enough, and Max at $100 versus $200 separates the two tiers. If you rarely hit the limits, stay on Pro and keep the difference.

Invoice and KDV for a Turkish business (fatura ve KDV)

If a company pays for the plan, the document you need is Anthropic's invoice, not the card statement. The invoice shows the subscription charge, the tax as its own line, the subtotal and the total, and it is the same document whether you download it from Settings, then Billing, or open it from the receipt email.

Anthropic's help center says an optional Tax or VAT ID field appears at checkout "if your address is eligible for tax purposes", and that you can add or update it later under Settings, then Billing, then Update next to the payment method. Whether that field appears for a Türkiye address, and whether a Turkish vergi numarası changes the tax line, is something to check on your own account, because the help center does not list the eligible countries. Turkish tax advisers describe a foreign software subscription as a service import, on which a KDV-registered business declares reverse-charge KDV on the 2 No'lu KDV return and deducts it on the 1 No'lu return. Whether that applies when the supplier has already charged KDV on the invoice is a question for your accountant, and the invoice with its tax line is what they will ask for.
