What Claude Pro costs from Vietnam

Claude Pro in Vietnam is billed by Anthropic in US dollars, at the same list price as everywhere else: 20 USD a month, or one annual charge of 200 USD, as of September 2026. Vietnam is on Anthropic's supported-countries list for both Claude.ai and the API, so you can sign up with a Vietnamese address and pay with a Vietnamese card. What lands on your statement is that USD amount converted to VND at your bank's card rate, plus the bank's foreign-currency fee, plus any tax that Anthropic's checkout adds for your billing address. The plan question in Vietnamese searches is "các gói Claude", the Claude plans. There are four consumer tiers as of September 2026, and all of them are priced in USD.

The usage column uses the multipliers Anthropic publishes: Pro is "at least five times the usage per session" of Free, and the two Max tiers are five and twenty times Pro, so the Max rows are those multipliers applied to Free.

• Free costs nothing. It gives a usage allowance per five-hour session that Anthropic does not publish as a fixed number of messages, because a long conversation or a large file uses the allowance faster. The Claude Free tier limits, explained covers what that means in a normal day.
• Pro is 20 USD a month and gives at least 5 times the Free usage per session, plus a weekly cap that resets on a fixed schedule. Pro also includes Claude Code, which is the reason many developers buy it, and whether Claude Code is included with Claude Pro explains the limits that apply there.
• Max 5x is 100 USD a month. Anthropic describes it as five times the Pro usage per session, which is 25 times Free.
• Max 20x is 200 USD a month, twenty times Pro, or 100 times Free. Max is a monthly subscription only. There is no annual Max plan.

Which one you need depends on how many hours a day you spend in Claude, and the long version of which Claude plan you need walks through that decision. For most people in Vietnam the honest answer is Free until it stops you in the middle of a task, then Pro.

What a Vietnamese card actually pays

Anthropic charges the card in USD. Your bank then does two things. It converts the USD amount to VND at its own card exchange rate for that day, which is not the rate you see on Google, and it adds a foreign-currency conversion fee, in Vietnamese "phí chuyển đổi ngoại tệ" or "phí giao dịch ngoại tệ", as a percentage of the transaction. Both land on the statement inside one VND line, so the fee is easy to miss.

The percentage is set by your bank and your card type, not by Anthropic, so no single figure is given here. Vietnamese banks publish it in the card fee schedule ("biểu phí"), on the line for foreign-currency transactions, and premium cards often carry a lower rate or none. Look up your own card's line before you subscribe. The chart below uses an illustrative 3% so you can see the shape of the cost. Replace 3% with your bank's figure.

At 3%, Pro monthly costs 20.60 USD in USD terms instead of 20, a fee of 0.60 USD every month. The annual plan carries the same percentage once a year, 6.00 USD on a 200 USD charge. That is why annual is the cheaper route on a Vietnamese card twice over: the list price is lower, and the fee is paid once instead of twelve times.

Two more things matter on the card side. First, the exchange rate is applied on the day the transaction posts, which can be a day or two after the charge, so two identical USD charges can show slightly different VND amounts. Second, some Vietnamese banks also charge a fee on transactions that are denominated in VND but processed by a foreign merchant; Techcombank published such a fee for its Visa debit cards in August 2023. That only matters if Claude's checkout offers you VND pricing. Anthropic's help pages say Pro is priced "in your local currency where supported" and that the currency on offer is shown at claude.ai/upgrade. As of September 2026 no Anthropic page confirms VND for Vietnam, so expect USD unless the checkout shows otherwise. Is VAT added for Claude Pro in Vietnam?

VAT (value added tax) is where most country guides guess. Here is exactly what Anthropic's public pages say, and what they do not say.

Anthropic's pricing page lists dollar prices with the note "Prices shown don't include applicable tax." The help article for the Pro plan says: "Monthly pricing varies by region, and some regions include applicable taxes in the displayed price while others add tax at checkout." The help article on Pro and Max invoices says tax appears as its own line on the invoice, and that "Tax is calculated from your billing address, which is taken from your payment method's address." None of these pages names Vietnam, and none lists which countries get a tax line.

On the Vietnamese side, since 2022 a foreign company that sells digital services to people in Vietnam is required to register with the tax authority and declare tax itself through the foreign-supplier portal at etaxvn.gdt.gov.vn, and the authority publishes the list of suppliers that have registered. Copies of that list published by Vietnamese tax advisers, with entries dated up to May 2024, do not include Anthropic. The live portal opens as a session-bound page, so it could not be checked directly, and Anthropic may have registered since. So no Vietnamese VAT rate for Claude is given here, because none could be confirmed.

What you can do is read it off the checkout yourself. Sign in, open claude.ai/upgrade, choose Pro, and enter the card with your Vietnamese billing address. The order summary on that page shows the amount before you confirm, and a tax line, if there is one, appears there. After the first charge, Settings, then Billing, then Invoices shows the same breakdown on the PDF. If your address is eligible, the checkout also shows an optional field for a tax or VAT ID. That is where a Vietnamese business enters its mã số thuế so the invoice carries it.

Claude giá rẻ: how to pay less without losing the account

"Claude giá rẻ", cheap Claude, is the other question Vietnamese readers ask. There are four legitimate ways to pay less, and one way that ends with a lost account.

• Stay on Free for as long as it lasts. It costs nothing and the allowance resets every five hours. If you hit the limit once a week, you do not need Pro yet.
• Pay annually if you know you will use it all year. One charge of 200 USD instead of twelve charges of 20 USD, and one bank fee instead of twelve. The trade is that you pay the whole year up front and cannot get unused months back, so read annual versus monthly Claude billing before you commit.
• Subscribe only for the months you need. Pro monthly can be set to cancel at the end of any term with no penalty, and you keep Pro until the term ends. A student who needs it for one project can pay for one month. How to cancel or downgrade a Claude plan shows where the button is.
• Do not buy Max to fix a Pro problem you have once a month. Max is five or twenty times Pro usage at five or ten times the price. It pays off only when Pro's five-hour limit stops you most days.

The way people lose access is the "tài khoản Claude Pro giá rẻ" sold on marketplaces and in Facebook groups: a login to an account someone else created, often shared among several buyers. Anthropic's consumer terms say "You may not share your Account login information, Anthropic API key, or Account credentials with anyone else" and "You also may not make your Account available to anyone else." A shared account is used from several devices at once, and its usage allowance is shared too, so each buyer gets a fraction of Pro. When the seller changes the password, or Anthropic closes the account under those terms, the buyer has no recourse, because the account was never theirs. Which payment methods work from Vietnam

On the web, Claude's checkout takes cards only. Anthropic's billing FAQ says "we only accept credit or debit cards", and the checkout offers no PayPal, no bank transfer, no e-wallet and no QR payment. So MoMo, ZaloPay, VNPay and ShopeePay are not options at claude.ai as of September 2026.

The card needs to be an international card, meaning one with a Visa or Mastercard logo. A domestic Napas card, the plain ATM card without that logo, does not work with a foreign merchant. A Visa or Mastercard debit card from a Vietnamese bank does work, and so does a credit card, provided the bank has enabled it for online and international transactions. There is a second route. A subscription started inside the Claude app for Android is billed by Google Play, and Google Play's accepted payment methods for Vietnam include MoMo, ZaloPay, ShopeePay and VTC Pay, as well as Napas cards and carrier billing through MobiFone and Vinaphone. Two cautions apply. App store prices can differ from web prices, and Anthropic's Pro help page says to check your app store for pricing in your region rather than assuming the web figure. And a subscription bought through Google Play is managed and cancelled in Google Play, not in Claude's billing settings, so remember where you bought it. The iOS app is billed by the Apple App Store under Apple's own Vietnam payment options.

What to do when your card is declined

Claude's checkout shows a short decline message and does not say why, because the decision was made by your bank. The fix is on the bank's side. Work through these in order.

1. Turn on online and international payments for the card. Many Vietnamese banking apps ship new cards with online payments off, or with international transactions off, as a fraud control. The setting sits in the card section of the app under a name such as "Thanh toán trực tuyến" or "Giao dịch quốc tế". Switch it on, then retry.
2. Complete the OTP step. A first payment to a foreign merchant usually triggers 3-D Secure, an extra verification step where the bank sends an OTP (one-time password) by SMS or through its app. Closing that window counts as a decline. Retry and enter the code.
3. Check the limit, not only the balance. Debit cards carry a daily online spending limit that is separate from the account balance, and an annual charge of 200 USD converted to VND can exceed it. Raise the limit in the app, or pay monthly for the first term.
4. Match the billing address to the card. Anthropic takes the billing address from the payment method. Use the address the bank holds for you, in Vietnam. A mismatch can cause a decline, and the address is also what decides your tax treatment, so do not enter a foreign address to try to change either.
5. Try a card from a different bank. If everything above is correct and the card still fails, the block is a bank-side rule you cannot see from the checkout, and the quickest fix is another bank's Visa or Mastercard.

If a renewal fails rather than the first payment, the account is downgraded to Free, and Anthropic's billing FAQ lists "Your payment method failed and your account was downgraded" as a case to check. How much is Claude Pro in Vietnam in VND?

Anthropic bills in USD, 20 USD a month or 200 USD a year, and publishes no VND price as of September 2026. The VND figure is your bank's card rate on the posting day multiplied by the USD amount, plus the bank's foreign-currency fee. At an illustrative 3% fee the monthly charge is 20.60 USD in USD terms. Multiply that by your bank's rate for the VND amount, and check your card's fee schedule for the real percentage.

Does Anthropic charge VAT on Claude Pro in Vietnam?

Anthropic's pages say tax depends on the billing address and appears as a line on the invoice, and none of them names Vietnam. Vietnam requires foreign digital suppliers to register for tax, and public copies of the registered-supplier list with entries up to May 2024 do not include Anthropic. The only reliable answer is the order summary on claude.ai/upgrade before you confirm, and the tax line on the invoice under Settings, then Billing.

Can I pay for Claude with MoMo or ZaloPay?

Not on the web. Claude's checkout accepts credit and debit cards only. Inside the Android app the subscription is billed by Google Play, and Google Play in Vietnam accepts MoMo, ZaloPay, ShopeePay and VTC Pay, so that route works with an e-wallet. App store prices can differ from the web price, and the subscription is then managed in Google Play rather than in Claude's settings.

Is a cheap shared Claude Pro account safe to buy?

No. Anthropic's consumer terms forbid sharing login credentials or making an account available to anyone else. A resold login is shared with other buyers, its usage allowance is split among them, and the seller keeps control of the password. The legitimate ways to pay less are the Free tier, the annual plan, paying only for the months you need, and not buying Max when Pro is enough.
