What Claude Pro costs from Vietnam

Anthropic lists Claude Pro at 20 USD a month in the US, or one annual charge of 200 USD, as of October 2026. That US figure is not a worldwide price. Anthropic's Pro help article says Pro is offered "with pricing in your local currency where supported" and that "Monthly pricing varies by region". It sends you to claude.ai/upgrade for the price in your region. No Anthropic help or pricing page names a VND price for Vietnam as of October 2026, so the checkout is the only place to see what you will be charged and in which currency. Vietnam is on Anthropic's supported-countries list for both Claude.ai and the API, so you can sign up with a Vietnamese address and pay with a Vietnamese card. If the checkout shows USD, your statement shows that USD amount converted to VND at your bank's card rate, plus the bank's foreign-currency fee, plus any tax that Anthropic's checkout adds for your billing address. The plan question in Vietnamese searches is "các gói Claude", the Claude plans. There are four consumer tiers as of October 2026. Anthropic's pricing page lists them in USD, and those are the US list prices. In other regions the checkout may show a different amount or a local currency.

The usage column compares weekly allowances with Pro. Anthropic now describes Pro as offering more usage than Free without publishing a fixed multiplier. Max gives five times Pro usage every five hours and every week, while Ultra gives ten times Pro usage every week.

• Free costs nothing. It gives a usage allowance per five-hour session that Anthropic does not publish as a fixed number of messages, because a long conversation or a large file uses the allowance faster. Free also has a weekly usage limit. The Claude Free tier limits, explained covers what that means in a normal day.
• Pro is 20 USD a month and gives more usage than Free per session, plus a weekly cap that resets on a fixed schedule. Pro also includes Claude Code, which is the reason many developers buy it, and whether Claude Code is included with Claude Pro explains the limits that apply there.
• Max is 100 USD a month. It gives 5 times Pro usage every five hours and every week, and includes $100 a month in API credits. Max is a monthly subscription only. There is no annual Max plan.
• Ultra, formerly Max 20x, is 200 USD a month on the web and gives 10 times Pro usage every week. Mobile pricing may vary. Verified Ultra accounts have no five-hour limit; accounts not yet verified have a temporary limit. Ultra has a weekly limit across all models and a separate weekly Fable limit, and includes $200 a month in API credits. Ultra is a monthly subscription only. Existing Max 20x subscribers move to Ultra automatically with no price change.

Which one you need depends on how many hours a day you spend in Claude, and the long version of which Claude plan you need walks through that decision. For most people in Vietnam the honest answer is Free until it stops you in the middle of a task, then Pro.

What a Vietnamese card actually pays

When the checkout shows a USD price, Anthropic charges the card in USD. Your bank then does two things. It converts the USD amount to VND at the card exchange rate specified in your card's terms, and it adds any foreign-currency conversion fee, in Vietnamese "phí chuyển đổi ngoại tệ" or "phí giao dịch ngoại tệ", as a percentage of the transaction. Check your statement and card fee schedule for how the bank records the conversion and fee.

The percentage is set by your bank and your card type, not by Anthropic, so no single figure is given here. Vietnamese banks publish it in the card fee schedule ("biểu phí"), on the line for foreign-currency transactions, and premium cards often carry a lower rate or none. Look up your own card's line before you subscribe. The chart below uses an illustrative 3% so you can see the shape of the cost. Replace 3% with your bank's figure.

At 3%, Pro monthly costs 20.60 USD in USD terms instead of 20, a fee of 0.60 USD every month. The annual plan carries the same percentage once a year, 6.00 USD on a 200 USD charge. Annual billing lowers both the subscription cost and the total percentage fee: $6 instead of $7.20 across twelve monthly payments. Paying the percentage fee once instead of twelve times does not itself create an extra saving.

Two more things matter on the card side. First, the exchange rate and the date used for conversion depend on your card's terms; Techcombank's terms allow the transaction date or the card network's processing date, so two identical USD charges can show slightly different VND amounts. Second, some Vietnamese banks also charge a fee on transactions that are denominated in VND but processed by a foreign merchant; Techcombank published such a fee for its Visa debit cards in August 2023. That only matters if Claude's checkout offers you VND pricing. Anthropic's Pro help article says Pro is priced "in your local currency where supported", that "Monthly pricing varies by region", and that current pricing for your region is shown at claude.ai/upgrade. As of October 2026 no Anthropic page confirms VND for Vietnam, so check the currency on the checkout before you confirm. Is VAT added for Claude Pro in Vietnam?

VAT (value added tax) is where most country guides guess. Here is exactly what Anthropic's public pages say, and what they do not say.

Anthropic's pricing page lists dollar prices with the note "Prices shown don't include applicable tax." The help article for the Pro plan says: "Monthly pricing varies by region, and some regions include applicable taxes in the displayed price while others add tax at checkout." The help article on Pro, Max and Ultra invoices says "Tax is calculated from your billing address, which is taken from your payment method's address." It does not say how tax is shown on the invoice. None of these pages names Vietnam, and none lists which countries have tax included in the displayed price or added at checkout.

On the Vietnamese side, since 2022 foreign suppliers have been able to register and declare tax through the foreign-supplier portal at etaxvn.gdt.gov.vn. Copies of the registered-supplier list published by Vietnamese tax advisers, with entries dated up to May 2024, did not include Anthropic. The live portal opens as a session-bound page, so it could not be checked directly, and Anthropic may have registered since. There is one sign that it has: a business's question published on the Ministry of Finance's tax Q&A portal, read on 25 October 2026, quotes an Anthropic invoice that shows a Vietnamese tax code for Anthropic and a line of 10% VAT "do Anthropic tự thu", collected by Anthropic itself. That is one taxpayer's description of their own invoice, not a statement from Anthropic or the tax authority, and the ministry's reply is published only as images. So no Vietnamese VAT rate for Claude is given here as confirmed.

What you can do is read it off the checkout yourself. Sign in, open claude.ai/upgrade, choose Pro, and enter the card with your Vietnamese billing address. The order summary on that page shows the amount before you confirm. If tax is added at checkout for your address, it shows up there. If it is already included in the displayed price, the total will not change. After the first charge, Settings, then Billing, then Invoices shows the invoice, and Anthropic also emails it to your billing email address. Anthropic's invoice help says you can also add a tax or VAT ID. The tax ID field is available only for eligible billing addresses.

Claude giá rẻ: how to pay less without losing the account

"Claude giá rẻ", cheap Claude, is the other question Vietnamese readers ask. There are four legitimate ways to pay less, and one way that ends with a lost account.

• Stay on Free for as long as it lasts. It costs nothing and the session allowance resets every five hours; a weekly limit also applies. If you hit the limit once a week, you do not need Pro yet.
• Pay annually if you know you will use it all year. One charge of 200 USD instead of twelve charges of 20 USD lowers the subscription cost and the total percentage conversion fee. The trade is that you pay the whole year up front and payments are generally non-refundable except where Anthropic's terms or the law provide otherwise, so read annual versus monthly Claude billing before you commit.
• Subscribe only for the months you need. Pro monthly can be set to cancel at the end of any term with no penalty, and you keep Pro until the term ends. Anthropic says to cancel at least 24 hours before the next billing date to avoid the next charge. A student who needs it for one project can pay for one month. • Do not buy Max or Ultra to fix a Pro problem you have once a month. Max gives five times Pro usage every five hours and every week at five times Pro's monthly price; Ultra gives ten times Pro usage every week at ten times the price. Both cost $20 per Pro-sized weekly allowance. Upgrade when Pro's limits regularly stop your work.

The way people lose access is the "tài khoản Claude Pro giá rẻ" sold on marketplaces and in Facebook groups: a login to an account someone else created, often shared among several buyers. Anthropic's consumer terms say "You may not share your Account login information, Anthropic API key, or Account credentials with anyone else" and "You also may not make your Account available to anyone else." A shared account is used from several devices at once, and its usage allowance is shared too, so each buyer gets a fraction of Pro. If the seller changes the password or Anthropic closes the account under those terms, the buyer loses access to an account the seller controls. Which payment methods work from Vietnam

On the web, Claude's checkout takes cards only. Anthropic's billing FAQ says "For subscriptions purchased on the web, we only accept credit or debit cards", and the checkout offers no PayPal, no bank transfer, no e-wallet and no QR payment. So MoMo, ZaloPay, VNPay and ShopeePay are not options at claude.ai as of October 2026.

Use an international credit or debit card enabled for online and international transactions, such as a Vietnamese bank's Visa or Mastercard. Check with your bank that your specific card supports the purchase. The section on declined cards below covers that switch.

There is a second route. A subscription started inside the Claude app for Android is billed by Google Play, and Google Play's accepted payment methods for Vietnam include MoMo, ZaloPay, ShopeePay and VTC Pay, as well as Napas cards and carrier billing through MobiFone and Vinaphone. Two cautions apply. Anthropic's Pro help page says to visit claude.ai/upgrade or check your mobile app store for current pricing in your region, so look at the price shown in the app before you assume it matches the web figure. And Anthropic's billing FAQ says that for an app subscription the payment is handled by the Apple App Store on iOS or Google Play on Android, with the payment method and receipts managed through your app store account rather than in Claude's web billing settings. To cancel, Anthropic's cancel article says to open the Claude app, tap your initials, then Billing, then Manage subscription; if you have already uninstalled the app, cancel it in Google Play instead. So remember where you bought it. The iOS app is billed by the Apple App Store under Apple's own Vietnam payment options.

What to do when your card is declined

Anthropic says it does not receive detailed reasons for declines from issuing banks. Its troubleshooting guide covers billing details, payment methods, verification and temporary technical issues as well as bank restrictions. Work through these in order.

1. Turn on online and international payments for the card. Check that your bank has enabled both for your card. Look in the card section of the app for a setting such as "Thanh toán trực tuyến" or "Giao dịch quốc tế". Switch it on, then retry.
2. Complete the OTP step. If the payment requires 3-D Secure, complete the bank's verification step, such as entering an OTP (one-time password) by SMS or confirming through its app. Retry and complete that verification if it was interrupted.
3. Check the limit, not only the balance. Check your card's online spending limit as well as its available balance; an annual charge of 200 USD converted to VND must fit within both. Raise the limit in the app, or pay monthly for the first term.
4. Match the billing address to the card. Anthropic takes the billing address from the payment method. Use the address the bank holds for you, in Vietnam. A mismatch can cause a decline, and the address is also what decides your tax treatment, so do not enter a foreign address to try to change either.
5. Try a card from a different bank. If everything above is correct and the card still fails, contact your bank for the reason or try another payment method. Anthropic also recommends retrying later for temporary technical issues and contacting its support team if the problem continues.

If a renewal fails rather than the first payment, a downgrade is one possible result: Anthropic's billing FAQ lists "Your payment method failed and your account was downgraded" as a case to check. That FAQ does not say what happens to your conversations or projects after a downgrade, so export anything you cannot afford to lose if you do not plan to resubscribe quickly. How much is Claude Pro in Vietnam in VND?

Anthropic lists Pro at 20 USD a month or 200 USD a year in the US. It says pricing is in local currency where supported and varies by region, and as of October 2026 none of its help or pricing pages names a VND price for Vietnam. Open claude.ai/upgrade to see the amount and currency offered to you. If it is USD, the VND figure is the USD amount multiplied by the exchange rate specified in your card's terms, plus the bank's foreign-currency fee. Does Anthropic charge VAT on Claude Pro in Vietnam?

Anthropic's pages say tax is calculated from the billing address, and that some regions include it in the displayed price while others add it at checkout. None of them names Vietnam. Vietnam's foreign-supplier tax portal has operated since 2022; public copies of the registered-supplier list with entries up to May 2024 did not include Anthropic. A business's question on the Ministry of Finance's Q&A portal, read in October 2026, quotes an Anthropic invoice with a 10% VAT line collected by Anthropic, but that is one taxpayer's account, not an Anthropic statement. The only reliable answer is the order summary on claude.ai/upgrade before you confirm, and the invoice under Settings, then Billing.

Can I pay for Claude with MoMo or ZaloPay?

Not on the web. Claude's checkout accepts credit and debit cards only. Inside the Android app the subscription is billed by Google Play, and Google Play in Vietnam accepts MoMo, ZaloPay, ShopeePay and VTC Pay, so that route works with an e-wallet. Anthropic says to check your mobile app store for the price in your region, so do not assume it matches the web figure. The payment and receipts are then handled through Google Play, and you cancel from the Claude app under your initials, then Billing, then Manage subscription, or in Google Play if the app has been removed.

Is a cheap shared Claude Pro account safe to buy?

No. Anthropic's consumer terms forbid sharing login credentials or making an account available to anyone else. A resold login is shared with other buyers, its usage allowance is split among them, and the seller keeps control of the password. The legitimate ways to pay less are the Free tier, the annual plan, paying only for the months you need, and not buying Max or Ultra when Pro is enough.
